We are allowed only a voyeur’s eyeful as they gather in plush landscapes comprised of arabesque flora and traverse wide vistas that push the perspective backward toward minuscule heights. Together, these women govern the deconstruction of modernist painting by incorporating it into secular, down-to-earth practices and non-secular rituals.”
