Specimen recalls the feeling of looking into a petri dish, microscope, or telescope. Out of a storm of particles, human eyes and limbs emerge, seemingly appearing and disappearing. The piece reflects on an orientation of seeing; a portal onto a constellation of Black being. Whether micro or macro, it is a meditation on vastness, an escape from limited thinking, evolving ways to visualize Black presence beyond the surface of skin.
