Hung Liu is an artist of two worlds. She was born, raised, and trained as an artist in China, studying and teaching art in Beijing, including as host of a television program of art instruction for children. She emigrated to the United States in 1984 to pursue graduate studies at the University of California San Diego. From 1990 until 2014 she taught painting at Mills College in Oakland. This print is part of a series influenced by the work of Dorothea Lange.
